XDA Wins Eight American Business Awards
The XD Agency was honored with seven Gold Stevie Awards and one Silver Stevie in the 17th annual American Business Awards, announced today.
“The nominations submitted to The 2019 American Business Awards were outstanding,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “They illustrate the continued vibrancy of innovation and high level of achievement across the American economic landscape.”
The winning work comprised a diverse cross-section of the agency’s portfolio, with projects including the development of an aviation curriculum, a training video, an internal educational event, a fundraising event, and a consumer event on a massive scale. They served clients including Porsche Cars North America, Mercedes-Benz USA, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), and TradeRev.
Best Brand Engagement Event: Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI
Best Interactive Outdoor Event: Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI
For a four-day festival of Porsche’s racing heritage, The XD Agency designed and executed the world’s largest gathering of Porsche enthusiasts. And the effort paid off.
“Porsche demands a lot, and this appears to have delivered,” one judge wrote. “Tremendous attention to detail, theme, execution, design. Great engagement, results, and a multitude of on-brand experiences. Huge scale but also intimate.”
Best Career and Workforce Readiness Solution: AOPA’s Aviation Curriculum
The You Can Fly! curriculum earned Gold honors for breathing new life into aviation subject matter for hundreds of teachers and thousands of students around the country.
Judges commented not only on the problem the curriculum was designed to solve (a shortage in the aviation workforce) and the diversity of the target audience (far more female than general aviation demographics), but also the creativity and critical importance of the program itself.
Best Educational Event: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Launch
In the conferences and meetings category, The XD Agency was honored with the top prize for its work unveiling the new Sprinter van and educating a diversity of audience segments on the vehicle.
“I appreciate that the program flexed to the needs of various audience segments, rather than trying to be all things to all people,” one judge wrote. “Deep content, interactive, intimate, audience-focused. Well done.”
Best Customer Engagement Event: Cisco Live
The technology mega-event Cisco Live earned Gold in this category, with judges remarking not only on the “tech and glitz” of the program but also the enthusiasm and engagement it inspired.
“This is creativity, attention to detail, and a total blowout,” one wrote. (This is the second consecutive award-winning year that The XD Agency has supported Cisco on the program.)
Best Training Video: Mercedes-Benz Charleston Plant Video
The Gold award-winning video was designed to showcase the scale, precision, and teamwork involved in the new Vans plant in South Carolina, while of course creating an emotional connection. It delivered.
“Powerful, impacting, each phase showcased, identified, and explained. No wonder the video was used for more occasions than originally intended,” a judge wrote. “A creative idea well planned and perfectly executed.”
Best Fundraising Event: EAA’s The Gathering
The XD Agency transformed the content of this important fundraiser for the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the event delivered greater-than-ever engagement — and greater-than-ever dollars raised. As one judge put it, the Gold Stevie award reflects the fact that the “crucial pivot proved successful.”
“Great concept, design, and execution,” another judge wrote. “Content seemed on-point, experience appears top-notch, high audience engagement, and a dynamic emotional atmosphere.”
Brand Experience of the Year, B-to-B: TradeRev Move Metal
Last year, The XD Agency developed and launched TradeRev’s Move Metal campaign, which continues building momentum for the revolutionary auto remarketing company.
“Great tagline for the audience and engaging strategies and thoughtful about your target market and competition,” one judge note. “A great high-energy campaign — from strategy to implementation to results,” added another.
