DON’T CALL IT A PIVOT
If I see one more article about “making the pivot to virtual,” I’m going to gag. Not because they aren’t trying to be helpful. They are. It’s just that I’m over the idea…
Because we’re not really pivoting at all—virtual events have been in the repertoire for years. Anyone else remember the rush to virtual after the 2008 recession?
What we’re actually doing is… what we’ve always done. Helping clients understand audiences, prioritize messages, and strategize solutions. Period. It’s beside the point that these particular solutions end up on a livestream instead of in the Venetian, or in a virtual world instead of a 5th Avenue pop-up. Because we succeed when we energize, educate, motivate, and inspire our audiences—regardless of the delivery mechanisms we happen to employ.
So, let’s cool it with all this talk of pivots. And keep doing what we do best.
